University Placement Service

University & Career School Admission Made Easy
More than 550 US universities, colleges and career schools accept completion of an advanced level in the ELS Intensive English Program in place of the TOEFL®. These schools are members of the unique ELS University and Career School Cooperative Program and allow you to apply for university admission before leaving your country through the ELS University Placement Service. If you meet all the entrance requirements except English proficiency, you can receive a “conditional acceptance” granting your admission after you complete the required level with ELS.

Some of the finest schools in the United States are included in the ELS Cooperative Program, as well as many of those ranked in "America's Best Colleges," a survey published by the leading weekly magazine, U.S. News & World Report. Some schools require completion of Level 109, while others require Level 112 for admission. For a list of these universities, colleges and career schools, visit www.collegedirectory.els.edu.

University Placement Service
After completing our Intensive English Program, many students continue their studies as undergraduate or graduate students at US colleges, universities or career schools. The ELS University Placement Service (UPS) helps you select the school that’s right for you and helps to secure your admission.  UPS greatly shortens and simplifies the application process.

  • Selection: We help you find schools that best match your educational goals and academic background.
  • Document Processing:  ELS handles all your applications and correspondence to the school(s) selected.
  • Credential Evaluation: When required, for an additional fee, we can have your home-country high school and/or university transcripts and credentials evaluated/certified.
  • Notification: ELS notifies you of your academic acceptance and forwards acceptance materials to you.

How to apply through ELS University Placement Service (UPS)
UPS uses generic applications for undergraduate and Master’s candidates, which are available in a PDF format.
